What are your regular business hours?

We are open from 2PM - 10PM Wednesday through Sunday. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

What Are The Age Requirements To Get A Tattoo? Can My Parents Sign For Me?

To be tattooed legally in the state of Texas, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age and be able to present state or federally issued photo identification.

Your parents or legal gaurdian cannot sign for you if you are under the age of 18.

There is only one exception to this rule. A minor may be tattooed if the minors guardian has determined it to be in the best interest of the minor, to have a pre-existing (offensive) tattoo covered. No other exceptions will be made.

We cannot tattoo you if you forget your ID.

We do not keep past ID's or paperwork 'on file'.

Who supplies the Needles, Tubes, Pigments, and other equipment?

All needles, tubes, pigments, paper towels, gloves, and any other equipment, minus machines and power supplies, are provided by NVS-Ink Art Studio.

We see this as the ONLY way to GUARANTEE a 100% sterile tattooing environment.

I want a 100% custom tattoo, or some other artwork, can you do that?

Does It Hurt?

Is It Safe To Get A Tattoo?

Modern procedures require that everything we use should be 100% disposable.

Nothing is EVER reused.

This 100% disposable ethic, in concert with artists who are knowledgeable in aseptic procedures, blood borne pathogens, and the art of clean tattoo work in general, guarantees you a completely sterile and comfortable environment to get your sweet new ink.

What If I'm Sick, Or On Blood Thinners?

If you are sick you should DEFINITELY wait to get a tattoo.

Not only will it be unpleasant for you, it will be unpleasant for us, and put everyone in the studio at risk.

If you are taking blood thinners, you should consult your physician before deciding to get a tattoo. Most times you will have to be off of the blood thinners, which could result in stroke, aneurysm, and a whole host of other deadly conditions. Consult your physician, DON'T RISK IT.

Can I Use A Numbing Cream?

Yes! There are lot's of great products out there, but not every product is right for every person. Consult your physician or dermatologist.

How Much Is It Going To Cost?

The cost of your tattoo will be calculated by the artist who performs it.

The scale of the tattoo does not determine the price. Most often the case is exactly the opposite because shrinking a design adds details, details take time, time is money.

Generally, any tattoo that takes less than 3 hours will be priced at an estimated $100.00 an hour. Larger tattoos may be given a flat price, at the discretion of your artist.

Tap-out sessions are available. Come in and speak with an artist for details.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cash and credit cards are readily accepted. NVS-Ink Art Studio utilizes the SQUARE credit payment system so that you can be sure all transactions are 100% secure. We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

When do I pay?

Since our very first day of business (October 15th 2010) NVS-Ink Art Studio has always stood by the policy that a client should pay for their tattoo AFTER the procedure is completed and they are 100% satisfied with the quality of the work received.

Should I Tip My Tattoo Artist?

Tipping is 100% up to you. If you feel that your artist deserves it, then by all means do it.

What Should I Get?

You should get what you know is right for you. No one else in the whole world (not even us) knows what you want. Try to explain to your artist any idea you might have on your mind; you might be suprised at how easily our artists move those ideas to paper.

Where Can I Find Inspirational Artwork or Designs?

The Internet is chock full of imagery. While we prefer to draw all of our designs ourselves, it can be immensely helpful to get your idea across to an artist if you have a picture.

Is It Okay to Lay Out In The Sun Or Visit The Tanning Salon After Being Tattooed?

Sunlight is the mortal enemy of tattoos. Ultra-Violet radiation (sunlight) causes tattoos to fade and blur. We do not suggest ANY exposure to sunlight for at least 1 week after the tattoo is applied. After the tattoo is completely healed, you should use a high SPF sunscreen to protect your tattoo and keep it sharp and bright. Please read this article about Tattoos and Tanning.

I Just Got A Tattoo On X Place On My Body, Can I Shave There Yet?

Before you pull out the razor blade, please read this article, When is it Safe to Shave Again?

My tattoo needs a touch-up. What do I do?

To guarantee an artists availability, please contact us to set up an appointment.

We will happily set your appointment for any time during regular business hours, within 90 days of the original date of the tattoo.

If the original artist who applied your tattoo is no longer with us, we will do our very best to re-connect you with that artist. Guest artists are a regularity at NVS-Ink. When they move on, we usually know how to reach them. Don't be afraid to ask!

If that artist is unreachable or unavailable to you, one of our in-house artists will do the touch-up for you if that is your wish, free of charge.

We stand behind every tattoo 110%.

My Friend Just Got A Tattoo kit from amazon, ebay, etc, Should I let them 'practice' on me?

No. You will regret it.

Your friend could be putting both of your lives in danger by foolishly trying to learn this at home. Tell them they need to get a proper apprenticeship.

If they don't know how to get an apprenticeship, direct them to dial 409-422-4869, and we'll see what we can do to point them in the right direction.

Do you sell ink, needles, or any other tattoo/art supplies?

No. We do not sell any kind of tattoo equipment or art supplies, however, we do have a gorgeous gallery full of original artwork that is all currently for sale and would make a great gift for someone you love.

Do you sell bongs, screens, pipes, pee cleaner or other X thing I bought/saw at some other tattoo shop once?

No. While you may have seen or even purchased those items at 'some other tattoo shop' we are fantastically thrilled to inform you that we are an art studio, and all we sell is art. If you are in the market for some art, feel free to stop by! We have pieces by artists from all over the United States that would look great in your den, bedroom, or dining room.
